Eligibility Requirements
Who is eligible for The University of Texas at Austin Staff Service Awards Program?
- Classified and Administrative and Professional (Code 1000) staff appointed 20 hours or more per week.
What service is counted for the Staff Service Awards?
- Service with any University of Texas System component prior to September 1, 2001 is included.
Note: Service earned at other State agencies/institutions is not included in calculating award eligibility, regardless of when it was earned. - Only University of Texas at Austin service is included if earned 9/1/01 or later.
- One month of service is given for each month or fraction of a month of an active appointment at 20 hours per week or more in an eligible title.
- Must be currently appointed at 50% time or more in an eligible title, or have retired after May 31, 2008.
- Eligible service is computed through May 31, 2009.

- Starting January 12, individual staff members may view information regarding their eligibility for a University of Texas at Austin Staff Service Award for the current fiscal year by visiting Service Awards - Am I Eligible? [UT EID required; will open a new browser window]. The information shown is calculated from award-eligible service only, and therefore may not be a reflection of total State Service.
- A departmental HR contact may view eligibility information on staff within their department.
