Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance provides a monetary benefit for bodily injuries or death resulting from a covered accident to active employees and their covered dependents. In the case of bodily injury, you may be eligible to receive all or 50% of your coverage amount, depending upon the loss. If death occurs as a result of an accident, your beneficiary could receive your AD&D benefits in addition to your term life insurance benefits. If you're enrolled in a university medical plan as an active employee, you'll receive $20,000 coverage at no additional cost.

Additional Coverage

You may purchase additional coverage in increments of $10,000, up to 10 times your annual salary or $1 million, whichever is less. The cost of voluntary coverage is $0.14 per each $10,000 increment. If you have at least $20,000 of voluntary coverage, you may purchase $10,000 coverage for your dependents. For your spouse only, you can purchase up to 50% of your own coverage amount.
