All benefits-eligible employees and retirees may participate in the UT Select health plan.  The plan is administered by BlueCross BlueShield of Texas (BCBS).  Your monthly cost for coverage depends on your employment status and your level of coverage.  Review Medical Coverage Rates for details. 

If you are an eligible full-time employee or academic graduate student employee, you are automatically enrolled in the UT Select plan. If you wish to waive coverage, you have 31 days from your first eligibility date to do so. If you are a part-time employee, you must enroll in the UT Select plan within 31 days of your first eligibility date or you won’t have medical coverage.

If you are a full-time or academic graduate student employee and you waive coverage, or if you are a part-time employee and  you don’t elect medical coverage during your initial 31-day period of eligibility, you will be subject to Evidence of Insurability during the next Annual Enrollment or qualified Change of Status event.
