Kick Butt with Tobacco Cessation Classes!
Have you tried to quit using tobacco products before but need more support? This class will help you kick the habit and support you on a path to a healthier life!
Classes begin January 2013!
UT Austin adopted a tobacco-free campus policy on April 9, 2012. Human Resource Services (HRS) is enhancing our cessation services for those who wish to quit. The HealthPoint Work-life Balance and Wellness Program and RecSports have partnered with Seton Healthcare's Tobacco Education Resource Center to offer an onsite comprehensive tobacco cessation program to help UT Austin faculty and staff who want to quit using tobacco products. Trained facilitators from Seton will teach this six-week class series using the proven Mayo Clinic model.
There are several perks to participating! Up to two weeks of nicotine replacement therapy (patch, lozenge, or gum) will be provided for those who qualify. Also participants completing the series will receive a two week pass to RecSports. (No refunds will be given on prior purchases, non-transferable.)
Cost
If you attend at least the first 4 sessions, this class is FREE! If you do not attend the first four sessions, you will be billed directly by Human Resource Services HealthPoint Wellness Program for the cost of the entire 6 week series ($185).
This class is paid for through University Operations and the UT Select Medical Plan. For this reason your insurance information will be shared with Seton, just as if you attended a class at their facility.
Incentive
To be eligible for the free two week pass to RecSports you must complete the entire series.
Class information and eligibility
- If you are a UT Select plan member, please bring your UT Select Insurance ID card with you to the first day of class.
