Getting Started with the Online UT Job Application

The University of Texas at Austin has an Online Job Application which you will use to apply for jobs listed on the UT Job Search.
 

Online Job Application Instructions

Job types: Executive/Managerial, Executive/Managerial, Professional Non-faculty, or Technical/Paraprofessional positions, Clerical, Skilled/Crafts, and Service/Maintenance positions [see "Instructions and Helpful Hints" for more information].

Who: New/previous applicants and current UT employees

How to apply:

  1. If you have not done so, create your UT Electronic ID (UT EID) and password
  2. UT EID Self Service Tools can assist you in the creation of your UT EID. Your UT EID is automatically generated. Please make note of your UT EID as you will need it along with your password to log in.
  3. Log on to the UT Online Application using your UT EID and password
  4. Select the "UT Austin Job Application" option and complete your application:
    • Personal Information - Who are you? How can we reach you?
    • Confidential Information - 5 simple, legally-required questions
    • Conviction Information - All positions at The University of Texas at Austin are security sensitive and a background check will be conducted on all new applicants hired.
    • Resume - Free form space (copy and paste your existing resume or build a new resume). You may have multiple resumes and may select a specific resume when applying for a specific job vacancy.
  5. Apply for a Specific Job - provide a job number and the qualifications and other information about the job will appear. As soon as you certify that you are qualified, you will immediately see the application information for the job, including who to contact and any additional materials requested by the hiring department.
  6. You will need to submit your Online Job Application to departments electronically for EACH job vacancy. If you do not have a job vacancy number you may find it through our Job Search by going to the navigation menu on the left. Under "Search Jobs at UT Components." Click on the "UT Austin" link.
  7. Hiring supervisors will review the pool of applicants and will contact applicants regarding their status.

Additional Information in your Online Job Application:

  1. You can see a list of jobs for which you have applied by clicking on the "Job Matches" link.
  2. You can view and/or print a copy of your application by using the "View/Print" link.

How To Log On

To complete the UT online employment application please select the option that best describes your situation:

I do not have a UT EID or I can't remember my UT EID. Note: All UT students and employees have a UT EID assigned automatically. Go to UT EID Self-Service Tools
I have a UT EID, but I have forgotten my password. Go to UT EID Self-Service Tools
I have a UT EID, and I know my password. Log on to the UT Online Application

Browser Recommendations

To avoid problems with accessing the UT Online Application, please be sure that you are using one of UT's recommended browsers.

Special note for America Online (AOL) users:
If you are an AOL user and have problems accessing the online application, AOL Technical Support recommends the following solution:

  • Make sure you are using the 32-bit version of AOL.
  • Log on to AOL as you normally would.
  • Open one of UT's recommended browsers and begin the application process.
