Department New Employee Checklist

Before New Employee Begins

  1. Complete the Recruiting Summary for the position.

  2. Create or request creation of appointment, including creation of new employee record, if necessary.

  3. Create *DPUSER logon, if mainframe access needed.

  4. Request authorizations for all applicable mainframe applications and Web systems.

  5. Request *DEFINE office manager to place new employee on needed desks and views.

  6. Request a Criminal Background Check [PDF; 39K] for Security Sensitive Positions.

  7. Fill out a Key Request for any keys needed.

  8. Create letter for Parking and Transportation, verifying employment, to allow new employee to obtain a parking permit.

  9. Create the beginnings of a performance evaluation.

After New Employee Begins

  1. Have employee complete items on the New Employee Checklist.

  2. Place completed Employee Compliance Guide Acknowledgement Form in department file.

  3. Return to Human Resource Services the following completed forms:
