Toto, We’re Not in High School Anymore
My english classes in high school were simple: Learn the rules to writing, use them, get an A. Sounds like a math class, doesn’t it? Indeed, my view of writing became very formulaic… but oh so successful. So imagine my shock and displeasure when I found that those rules DO NOT WORK IN COLLEGE. It took me a long time- three or four papers, actually- to finally figure out one of the golden rules to writing… and we’ll get there right after these important lessons.
