Late nights and early mornings

It’s currently 4:45 in the morning. I’ve just finished up programming for my intro to computer programming class. I started working around 11, and I finished around 3:30. I don’t have a printer in my room, and I went down my AIM buddy list. Out of the three people awake, only one has a printer.

Since she lives in a different dorm, we meet up at the Jester Wendy’s right before closing time. Campus is a lot different at 4 am. There aren’t any cars on 21st street, the sidewalks devoid of any life at all. Step into the Wendy’s and it’s live. 4 o’ clock in the morning, the lines are longer than I’ve ever seen. The weird thing was that I was wide awake. It’s one hour till sunrise and I feel great! Of course, I know that I probably wouldn’t survive another hour, but it’s wide-awakeness that surprises me. It’s quite refreshing. The moral of the story is to never give up. No matter how long it takes to get something done, do it. I mean, getting 3 hours of sleep one night a week to get some homework done is a small price to pay.

Six hours later, I just got out of my Aerospace class, and I’m about ready to fall asleep. Slept 3 hours this morning. Amendment to the moral of the story: always have afternoons free so you can nap it off. Till next time.

Freshman year would not have happened for me without the generous support of naps. I used to work the graveyard shift at Target, an the problem was always falling asleep when I got home at 5 in the AM because I felt that same sort of second wind of being done with something, even though it was late. Also, the cool night are has a great effect on people.

Hello, I am a second year Civil Engineering Student. Wow I don’t think I had to stay up that late to do work during my first semester here, I definitely had to do last semester for my Physics Lab…. Good Luck! ^_^
