Spring 2009
Here’s what’s on my docket for this busy semester.
1. Undergrad Video Game Project
This semester, I’ll be involved in a pilot undergraduate video game project as a composer and Foley sound artist (more on that later). The project is run through Bridging Disciplines Program, which I will also write more about later. You’ll get to play video games made by me by March, and hopefully I’ll interview Bruce Pennycook of the BDP program, who is facilitating the project.
2. Choral Conventions
If anyone who reads this lives in San Antonio or Oklahoma City, UT Chamber Singers are coming to YOUR TOWN!
We’ve been invited to perform at Texas Music Educators’ Association Convention (San Antonio, Feb. 12) and American Choral Directors’ Association Convention (Oklahoma City, March 4), so I will put bug notices up before those weeks, and reports afterward.
3. Ransom Notes on Tour!
Ransom Notes, the a cappella group I’m in, tours during UT’s Spring Break. We will be touring this year to Nashville (yee ha!) during the week of March 16-21. It should be a fantastic experience, and I will be sure to chronicle the trip in a post.
4. Lecturer Highlight Series
This semester, I want to do video blogs with some of the great professors and lecturers I am lucky to have class with as part of this project, so you can see why UT is one of the best schools to come to, not only as a music major, but for a great undergrad experience. Hopefully, if you’re a prospective student, I might be able to convince you that UT is the right place for you. Because it is, I promise!
All this and much more; this semester on THE LONGHORN CONFIDENTIAL LIFE.
…
Just kidding. It’s not that serious. I don’t even know where that last part came from, really.

I was so happy to stumble upon your longhorn confidential blog! I was just looking at info on Ransom Notes. I am an incoming freshmen for fall 09 semester– so if you don’t mind, I have a few questions about UT music.
I don’t intend on majoring in business, but I definitely plan on participating in the music program. My choir director makes this sound possible, which I really hope is true!
I LOVE ransom notes. I am involved in a similar group at my school that is more jazz-y and I love it. I cant, however, seem to find any current info on yall?! Such as audition info and such haha.
If you get a spare second (although, from the looks of your semester, doesnt seem like you have too many of those) I would love a little more info on the ransom notes!
I saw that the chamber singers are going to be at TMEA so maybe I will see yall there (I am in the all-state choir) if you are there for the college night!
Thank you so much and sorry for the novel that is this comment…I got a little carried away

Hi Paul, I wasn’t your counselor at Judson but remember you well from there. Cindy Kempf sent me your page, and it’s been great fun reading about you and all you are doing! UT seems to be your niche so I am happy for you. Enjoy all of your great opportunities and experiences. Janet Pesek
