Someone Please Call 911 or: Emergency! Emergency! (A Sonnet)

A firetruck just passed by. Emergency! Emergency!

Students no longer have the right of way.

An ambulance follows soon after. Everyone turn and see!

Students then go on about their day.

A firetruck just passed by, hoping to extinguish the firey failure

Of students underachieving.

An ambulance follows soon after. For this disease there is no cure.

Hope is so deceiving.

So soon I was arriving, now it feels like I’ll never leave.

I’m being pulled in, deeper and deeper.

But I gotta stay strong, I gotta believe.

Yet, it’s harder everyday as I grow weaker and weaker.

Quick, someone please call 911!

My heart is racing, and I feel as if I may be…done.
