And Mr. McCombs is…..

Last Friday McCombs School of Business held its annual Mr. McCombs Pageant in which male representatives from a variety of organizations throughout the business school compete for the title of Mr. McComb.

The pageant is a well known event throughout the business school and its popularity is growing. It is a chance for young UT men to go out and strut their stuff through dance, singing and many other talents. The pageant’s main purpose is to raise money and food for the needy. The entrance fee was $3 or 3 canned goods, I was surprised at the amount of canned goods people were bringing in, I on the other hand decided to pay the $3. The competition is more about having fun than actually competing; most of the talents aren’t really talents at all, they are short skits or performances aimed at making the crowd laugh and shout out in either surprise or excitement.

The acts were pretty hilarious; they ranged from a muscular rugged man dancing to what one would consider a feminine song, to a few of the guys doing stand up. The variety was good and those who actually performed a talent were talented indeed.

The winner of the show was Mr. DSP — Andrew Chin. He put on a great show and made the crowd burst out in laughter time and time again. The runners up were Rahim Bora from ALPFA and Andres Guerrero from HBA.

The pageant was indeed a great show and I would recommend everyone to check it out at least once during your time at UT.

That sounds really awesome and for a good reason. I will definitely check it out if I decide to go to UT next year.
