Why I never want to go home for Thanksgiving ever again.
Happy belated Thanksgiving!
I hope all of you out there had a lovely holiday and ate tons of delicious food and got a chance to watch UT absolutely beat down A&M. As far as holidays go, this Thanksgiving was one of the best ever! Due to procrastination and high flight prices, I was unable to go home to New Jersey for the weekend, so instead, my friend Rebecca from LLA and her family adopted me, and Wednesday morning her and I headed home to Lindale, TX.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve never left Austin before, so I expected Lindale to be a big culture shock (everyone always asks me if moving down here has been a culture shock…uh, hello, no). But anyways, Lindale/Tyler ended up being a ton of fun, and I don’t think Rebecca even expected that. Over break, we…
- Went to a tiger wildlife refugee
- Played on ATVs
- Tried to go catfishing (they wouldn’t come to the surface…)
- Bought/decorated the family Christmas tree
- Ate so much food
- Went shopping!
- Watched New Moon at a drive in theater while sitting in the bed of a truck
- Drove through Santaland, and
- Saw the cutest elephant ever eating apples at the Tyler Zoo!
As I said, best break ever. What’s weird is to think that I started school 3 months ago and I already have friends who are amazing enough that they are willing to make sure I feel at home 1,700 miles away from Randolph. Only college friends can make that distance feel nonexistent.
And now I’m in an SG meeting and the VP is talking about tuition…. this is going to take awhile!
