November Will Be a Good Month!

My apologies for not writing last week — things have been absolutely crazy! I am heading to a big national speech tournament in Peoria, Illinois, this weekend, and I have been preparing like mad.

I also had a big Finance exam last week, so I spent a lot of time studying for that. Have any of you ever been to Peoria? It’s going to be freezing, but I’m really looking forward to the trip!

I have decided that the month of November will be a good one. I can’t believe that it’s already November and the semester is starting to come to a close! In about six weeks, I will be done with my second to last semester of school. This month is big, too — I find out about more interviews and the results of my Teach For America application this month. I’m hoping that I know more about where I’ll be post-graduation by the end of this month.

Oh! I wanted to share that I’m heading out to California for an interview in a couple weeks. I found out over this weekend that I was being flown out to interview with a company and I’m really excited! I am originally from the Bay Area (San Francisco area), so it will be nice to return for a weekend visit. I’ll keep y’all updated on the job hunt.

How was everybody’s Halloween? My weekend was full of work but I got some time to relax, which was nice. On Saturday, I dressed up as a banana that got thrown away. Yesterday, I went to Zilker Park with some of my friends to hang out. We threw around a frisbee, got some frozen yogurt and ate at Chili’s! It was a nice night.

I think a lot of times, people don’t get the time to go to the park and relax anymore. As middle and high school become more fast-paced, college becomes more demanding, and technology works at changing the minds of Americans, I feel like people don’t have enough time (or don’t make enough time) to stop and smell the roses. Running around in a field of grass was relaxing, to say the least, but more than that, it was a nice way to recharge myself for the stress of November. I’m confident that this will be a good month, though.

Do any of you have anything exciting coming up this month?
