So a lot of stuff has happened in the past few weeks. Ahh the wonders of senior year!
Along with some other senior nursing students, I went to the Texas Nurses’ Day at the Capitol a little more than a month ago. We worked with the Texas Nurses Association to lobby the Texas Legislature. I learned [...]
The reason why I haven’t posted lately is because school’s been CRAZY. I’m applying for jobs, doing homework, still actively involved in all the orgs, and trying to plan a wedding all at the same time. Note to the reader: don’t try to do all those things at the same time. It doesn’t facilitate a [...]
So today makes our six and a half year anniversary and 100 days until we get married. Exciting! I feel so behind.
I guess that’s the theme for this semester. For my classes, a lot of the dates of when things are due are pretty flexible and I can only take it about a week at [...]
I believe that studying abroad was the best thing I have ever done…but there’s just one problem. Once you experience a new culture where you are the foreigner, you get bored when you come back. I loved learning new things everyday, whether it was vocabulary or complexities of the culture. Living outside the US really [...]
Whew. Last week was a living hell. Ugh. It was filled with bunches of assignments, org meetings, and the realization that the financial status of your org wasn’t as secure as you thought it was.
Today was the first day of my very last semester as a UT nursing student. It wasn’t a very eventful day with the university only opening at 10 AM, I fortunately got to sleep in this morning.
I hope everybody had a fantastic break and wonderful New Years! It scares me that Christmas break is coming to a close. I’ll be back in Austin in less than a week. I love being home. It’s been so relaxing to spend quality time with my family and friends…not to mention the fiancee. Unlike most [...]
Turns out that I had no finals this semester (beautiful!) but because I procrastinated on my independent study project that was due, I still managed to experience the end of the semester craziness. All is well, I managed a 4.0 for this semester (one of my goals I made for myself as a freshman) and [...]
Whatever you do, do not use weather.com to determine the weather for the day. This morning that was my website of choice and it was supposed to get up to the mid sixties today. Now I find out that when I’m supposed to leave school, it’ll be in the 40s…and I’m wearing flip flops.
Yesterday morning a few of the bloggers and two other students served on a student panel for Longhorn Saturday, an event where prospective students and their parents are invited to the university for informational sessions about the application process and life at UT.
