It wasn't until my freshman year that I signed up for an architectural history class to fill a requirement and found out that I loved it. This is when I decided to become an internal transfer (a transfer within the University of Texas). So my acceptance into the School of Architecture was mostly based on space availability and my GPA. But the requirements to get in as a freshman are pretty similar to a transfer. Because the School of Architecture Undergraduate program is ranked #2 currently, it is very competitive with only 330 spots open. My best advice to your student would be to keep your GPA up and have a really great essay, that is all they have to judge you off of and Good Luck! If you have any other questions, I would suggest calling our advisors Garrett Loontjer or Katrina Kosted, they are extremely nice and well versed in the admissions process. I hope this helped!
