Facts about your family:

My parents are Vicente and Olga. I am the oldest of three children. I have a brother, Nicolas, and a sister, Valeria.

Why did you choose to attend The University of Texas at Austin?

I wanted to go somewhere different and unique. UT Austin seemed like it had a lot to offer and would be a great place to go to school.

What do you want to do when you graduate from the university?

I have plans to attend law school after I graduate.

If you had to choose one thing about yourself to share with the university’s Web audience, what would it be?

I think I’m an interesting person, I have done so much and met so many people, I could tell a lot of stories.

Who are your heroes?

My heroes are my parents.

If you could travel to one spot anywhere in the world, where would you want to visit?

If I could travel to one spot, I would travel to New Zealand and just walk around and enjoy the scenery.

What are your current favorite books? What books would you recommend to someone you just met?

My current favorite book is “The Historian.” To someone I just met, I would recommend “East of Eden” and “The Crystal Cave.”

What pushes your buttons? What are your pet peeves?

My pet peeves are people who are hypocrites and those who don’t keep their promises.

What are your favorite Web sites? Why?

My favorite Web sites include MySpace, Movies.com, IFILM and Ign.com. These are Web sites that provide something I find interesting or just provide entertainment.

What are your favorite foods?

My favorite foods would be any of my mom’s home cooking, Whataburger, pizza, chicken wings and fried chicken.

What music are you listening to?

I’m listening to Amos Lee, The Fray, Maroon 5. I really like the sort of alternative, R&B, jazz type of music.

What are your all-time favorite movies? Why?

My favorite movie of all time is “Gladiator.” It’s just a great movie to watch, it captures the perseverance and strength of man. My other favorites include “Armageddon,” “Lord of the Rings,” “V for Vendetta” and “Batman Begins.”

Who are your favorite artists?

My favorite artists include Mozart with his Sonata No. 14, Van Gogh with his Starry Night and, a more contemporary selection, music artists like Amos Lee.

What are your favorite academic subjects? What are you interested in studying in the future?

My favorite academic subject would be science. In the future my main interest is studying law.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

My favorite spot on campus is the Texas Union. It’s just an interesting place to hang out.

Where are your favorite places to go in Austin? What are your favorite things to do in Austin?

My favorite places in Austin are the entertainment and food venues, like going downtown or to Main Event, an arcade/bowling place. One of my favorite things to do is to go to a place with my friends that I haven’t been to before.

What are your favorite free-time activities?

My favorite free-time activities include playing the guitar, playing video games, going out to eat with my friends and attending events on campus, among other things.

Other interesting facts about you:

I can play the piano, guitar and saxophone. I’m a first-generation college student and will graduate one year early with a major in marketing and a minor in Spanish.
