Paul Stekler is George Christian Centennial Professor in the Department of Radio-Television-Film (RTF) and a nationally recognized documentary filmmaker.

Professor Stekler's critically praised about American politics and society includes "Last Man Standing: Politics—Texas Style," "George Wallace: Settin' the Woods on Fire," "Vote for Me: Politics in America" and two segments of the "Eyes on the Prize II" series on the history of civil rights.

Overall, his films have won two George Foster Peabody Awards, three Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Journalism Awards and three national Emmy Awards.

Professor Stekler also hosts “Special Session,” a weekly statewide PBS program on Texas politics aired during the biannual legislative session.

He has taught at the University of Texas at Austin's nationally recognized film program since 1997.
