International Faculty & Scholars

Various departments of the University invite international visiting professors or researchers to U.T. and request visa documents for the visitor's visa application and entry to the U.S. from the International Office. The majority of temporary visiting researchers and scholars come to lecture or conduct research as J-1 Exchange Visitors on Form DS-2019.

An orientation for new visiting scholars and faculty is required. The orientation normally lasts for one hour and provides information concerning immigration regulations, taxes, medical insurance, community involvement, transportation, banking, and obtaining a driver's license, I.D., and Social Security number.
