Research Consulting Services
Research Consulting consultants can help you design your study, select
an appropriate statistical or mathematical procedure, identify the various
parts of your output, or interpret results. We can also recommend site-licensed
statistical or mathematical software for your own personal computer, help
you select the best package for your task, locate documentation, and interpret
error messages.
Consults are limited to faculty, staff, and student researchers
of the University of Texas system. We cannot assist students with
homework assignments or course projects, but we can help teaching
assistants and instructors. Brief (30 minutes to 1 hour) consults via
e-mail, telephone, or walk-in
appointments are free of charge.
Different consultants staff the desk on different days. You can view
our schedule to find out who will answer your
question on a given day.
More in-depth consulting is available on a contract
basis. We are pleased to offer professional data analysis services
to faculty, staff and student researchers within The University of Texas
system with complex statistical or data management problems. Areas of
expertise include data management, conducting on-line surveys, sampling
populations for surveys, statistical analysis, and programming in AMOS,
SAS, SPSS, SUDAAN, and LISREL. Typical contracts cover 10 to 20 hours of
service charged at a rate of $65 per hour. Longer-term contracts can also
be arranged.
