About the Organizations
The Office of the Vice President for Information Technology is responsible for managing and sustaining the core technology and computer resources at the university. The vice president/chief information officer (CIO) works with campus, community and corporate partners to build a shared vision in support of the university’s learning, research and public service missions.
- The Information Security Office is responsible for all information security at the university. They coordinate the implementation of security policies from UT System at the university and ensure security on the network.
- Information Technology Services provides central IT services to the entire University of Texas at Austin. Services range from wired and wireless networks; mainframe and enterprise server and database systems operations; software development; desktop support and a centralized Help Desk. ITS strikes a balance between stable central services and constant innovation and improvement in providing new technologies and more efficient services.
