About this Position
The University of Texas at Austin is in search of an experienced leader to serve as Associate Vice President (AVP) for Operations in ITS. ITS Operations constitutes the technical face of the central IT organization for one of the largest universities in the nation. Taking leadership of this organization offers you a number of influential roles at the university.
In a managerial capacity, you will provide guidance and promote internal and external collaborations for the ITS Operations teams that provide telecommunications, building security, networking, systems, data center, and application development services. Mentor and develop the leadership of these teams to accomplish the shared goals of ITS and the university.
As an AVP, it is essential to provide a strong and innovative direction for your organization. You should be able to create and follow a vision for your group that is in alignment with the ITS strategic plan and mission of the university. Remove barriers and foster the relationships necessary to meet and anticipate the IT needs of this constantly changing academic environment.

About ITS Operations
The newly formed ITS Operations group was created to bring our almost 200 technical employees comprising the Applications, Infrastructure, Networking, and Systems teams into a single organization focused on end-to-end services. By aligning these groups, measuring our performance, and developing better lines of communication with our customers, we can achieve our goal of operational excellence.
