About this Position
The ITS Projects Office at the University of Texas at Austin is looking for a Senior Project Manager to provide leadership in two capacities.
One role is to work closely with other ITS organizations in planning, leading, managing, and delivering enterprise-scale IT projects for the university. In this role you will have project management responsibility for larger project efforts, and provide mentorship and coaching to those leading smaller-scale projects.
This position will also contribute substantially to the growth and development of the ITS Projects Office. Since the ITS Projects Office is a recent initiative created by the CIO, your creative and entrepreneurial leadership will be important in the development and function of this growing organization.
Areas for which this position is responsible
- Planning and managing large, complex projects throughout their lifecycle ensuring that all assigned projects are completed within established deadlines and budgets.
- Contributing substantially in a leadership role to the creation and refinement of project management best practices and supporting documentation through the ITS Projects Office.
People previously successful in this position have had
- A proven track record in successfully managing large, complex IT projects.

About the ITS Projects Office
The ITS Projects Office focuses on bringing greater structure and organization to the selection and management of ITS projects. One of our primary objectives is to increase project management competency within ITS through both direct management of projects as well as providing coaching, mentoring and tools for those leading projects throughout the organization. Our goals are to improve resource allocations, planning, data collection, and management reporting to enhance the visibility of ITS projects and aid in prioritization of the ITS projects portfolio.
