Systems
The Systems group installs, tests, supports and administers operating systems software, database software, run-time application environment software, and related products on servers located in the University Data Center. The Systems group provides the university with essential services such as e-mail and messaging, calendaring, course management systems, collaboration tools, printing and file backup. The Systems group also provides consultation and technical expertise to application developers throughout the university campus. Contact Systems by e-mail at systems@its.utexas.edu.
Administrative Systems
The Administrative Systems team manages the mainframe hardware, software and related technologies, including Natural/Adabas software on which enterprise functions depend. They support services such as the Task Manager scheduler (requires UT EID login), Green Output for Mainframe reports , and other functions. Unix Group
The Unix group operates mission-critical services such as Web Central, Blackboard, Webmail and WebSpace. They support other applications on UNIX and Linux platforms. Through timesharing, they provide disk storage and e-mail and support Web publishing for the entire campus. They advise and offer support to the campus community.
Windows Enterprise Support
Windows Enterprise Support develops and maintains the central Windows and Exchange infrastructure at the university. Services include disk storage; the Austin Exchange Messaging Service, which provides Exchange e-mail, calendaring and more for individuals, groups and departments; the Austin Active Directory; SharePoint and Project Server; database services such as ColdFusion and SQL Server; virtualization infrastructure; Blackberry; and more.
