Getting a Departmental Account
If you are a faculty or staff member, your department may pay for certain ITS services that you use in your work, such as e-mail and disk storage space. If you are unsure if any ITS services are paid for by your department, check with your department's account sponsor. If you don't know who your account sponsor is, contact the ITS Help Desk at (512) 475-9400.
Even if some ITS services are paid for by your department, you may decide you want additional services for your personal use. For example, you may wish to publish a personal Web page, and decide to purchase disk storage space for the page. In this case, you need an individual account, which you pay for yourself.
