The University of Texas at Austin

ITS Services Status / Mainframe maintenance window

Mainframe

Sunday, August 5, 2012 12:01 AM - 4:00 AM

The UT Austin mainframe will undergo planned maintenance early Sunday morning beginning shortly after 12:00 AM midnight and lasting up to 4 hours into Sunday morning. UT Direct, applytexas.org, Information Quest data warehouse, tn3270 mainframe access, and mainframe TID printing will be unavailable. Additionally, services using "fat cookie" EID authentication (e.g. numerous departmental services) will be impacted.

If you are responsible for such a system, please notify affected parties as appropriate.

Note: Systems not relying directly on the mainframe or fat cookie, such as the Public Network Authentication system, WebSpace, Webmail, Blackboard, and AEMS, will NOT be affected by this downtime.

This maintenance will include an OS upgrade for the file server utdirect-netapp2, during which time no data will be served from this file server. Please Call Tom Nail (512-826-4344) for more information on this filer maintenance event.

Please contact Robert Trent, robert.trent@austin.utexas.edu, if you need additional information.

For further information, contact Robert Trent.
