The University of Texas at Austin

ITS Services Status / Mainframe maintenance window

Mainframe

Sunday, August 4, 2013 12:00 AM - 2:00 AM

The UT Austin mainframe will undergo planned maintenance early Sunday morning beginning shortly after 12:00 AM midnight and lasting up to 2 hours into Sunday morning. UT Direct, applytexas.org, Information Quest data warehouse, tn3270 mainframe access, and mainframe TID printing will be unavailable. Additionally, services using "fat cookie" EID authentication (e.g. numerous departmental services) will be impacted.

If you are responsible for such a system, please notify affected parties as appropriate.

Note: Systems not relying directly on the mainframe or fat cookie, such as the Public Network Authentication system, WebSpace, Webmail, Blackboard, and AEMS, will NOT be affected by this downtime.

At the conclusion of this maintenance period, the mainframe operating system will have been upgraded to the latest stable release. Extensive systems-level testing and basic application testing has been conducted prior to this event. More extensive departmental application testing will be conducted once the maintenance is concluded but well in advance of the beginning of business hours the following day.
