As part of the Web Central Services Retirement project, the ITS website will be retired. Information about IT services will be replaced by two new sites, IT@UT and UT ServiceNow, and ITS departmental information will be migrated to a new location. All changes will be completed by 7/28/2016.

RESOLVED: Emergency maintenance on our IronPort e-mail appliances to address security vulnerability
Service Restored

Given the critical nature of this vulnerability and the fact that the maintenance would not have any customer visibility, we decided to push up the maintenance and handle it immediately. The maintenance is complete and our IronPort appliances are now using McAfee Anti-Virus.

We have just learned that the Sophos Anti-Virus component of our Cisco IronPort e-mail security appliances has a critical security vulnerability. Cisco IronPort’s recommended work-around is to switch to McAfee Anti-Virus until Sophos ships a fix. We will be doing this at 5:00 this evening. We expect that users will see no visible change due to this switch.
