ITS Services Status


RESOLVED: AEMS Outage reported by LAITS
Service Restored

It is believed that this problem has been resolved.

If you are having a problem with AEMs, please submit a ticket to help@its.utexas.edu with the following information:

·      EID,

·      client used, and

·      what behavior you are seeing (wedging, slowness, error)


The problems have been isolated to the off-campus SSL certificate revocation list service (used to verify security certificates by some applications).
DNS has been changed by the off-campus certificate revocation list service. 

It may take up to one hour for this change to propagate with the new IP address throughout campus.

If a work around is needed immediately, please try to use the Outlook Web Application (OWA) at https://wmail.austin.utexas.edu.  If this does not work, follow the instructions below to submit a ticket.

ITS Staff continues to monitor the service and is proactively updating local name servers.

An update will be provided in one hour, or sooner if the problem is resolved.


The Austin Exchange (AEMs) service is currently experiencing problems with some Apple clients (Outlook:mac) that use EWS for communication.

The problem manifests by the application “locking up” and not responding (spinning wheel).  No errors are seen on the Exchange server side.

Debugging information has been recorded and submitted to Microsoft engineers.

Systems staff continue to investigate.

We have received a few phone calls this morning from at least 4 different personnel in LAITS reporting that they cannot access the AEMS service.  At this time we have only received calls from LAITS personnel and do not have any additional information besides they are currently unable to access AEMS.
