Resolved:AEMS SMTP Service Down
The issue appears to be resolved. We rolled back a change that was made during maintenance this morning and continue to investigate why the behavior was unexpected
Systems staff are investigating.
The ITS Help Desk has been getting reports of users not being able to send emails from their AEMS email when using various email clients such as Thunderbird, Outlook, and Apple Mail. Attempts to send an email will result in the following error message: “An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender. Please check the message and try again.” These reports started coming in at 9:00 AM this morning
