While investigating an issue this morning with the UPS that supports NOC-A, the UPS switched into bypass mode at 11:10 a.m., which takes the UPS out of the loop and everything downstream is fed by the UPS’s available source. Several machines in the NOC saw a power drop and many transferred to their other power supply or source or rode out the drop until power returned.  There were several systems impacted briefly.  ITS is in the process of completing its investigation and identifying the root cause. There is 1 p.m. call with the necessary parties to determine the best time to take the machine out of bypass and return to UPS protected power (likely late this evening).  A follow on notification will be made when that maintenance is scheduled.

At approximately 11:15, UPS 308 switched into bypass onto it’s available power input.  There was a momentary power drop that has affected some machines in the NOC-A data hall.  UDC, Network, and OTS teams are investigating to determine the impact.
