ITS Services Status
The issue appears to be resolved. As of 9:52AM, the Google Apps Status Dashboard, which provides service alerts for Google Apps, says this: “The problem with Google Mail should be resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.” The ITS Help Desk will continue to monitor the situation in case of any further developments.
The ITS Help Desk has received reports this morning, as early as 7:30AM, that UTmail and even Google Mail are inaccessible. Users are experiencing very slow load times and/or 500 errors when trying to access UTmail via the web interface, and we are currently determining the extent to which IMAP connections via desktop clients are failing as well. Google’s website reports an issue with the Google Mail service here: http://www.google.com/appsstatus#hl=en&v=issue&ts=1366261199000&iid=f1583d7e731ba748b2c0ff847868a813—this appears to impact all customers using the UTmail service.
