As part of the Web Central Services Retirement project, the ITS website will be retired. Information about IT services will be replaced by two new sites, IT@UT and UT ServiceNow, and ITS departmental information will be migrated to a new location. All changes will be completed by 7/28/2016.

RESOLVED: Central ITS Oracle RAC under observation
Service Restored

Central ITS oracle RAC service remains stable.

From approximately 10:30AM to 2:46PM, some applications utilizing the Central ITS Oracle RAC may have experienced errors connecting to their database.

The preliminary root cause is unbalanced distribution of database resources (schemas) between the 3 nodes in the RAC cluster. 

During the period above, ITS Systems DB staff began analyzing and re-distributing database schemas to provide applications consuming a large amount of database resources an isolated environment in which to do so (without conflicting with other applications consumption).

At this point in time it is believed Central ITS Oracle RAC is providing service as expected.  ITS Systems DB staff will continue to monitor and work with customers.
