Microsoft has restored the service. Mail queues have mostly drained. The issue can be resolved.
No official word from Microsoft but services appear to be coming back up. However, the issue is not resolved.
There appear to be DNS issues on Microsoft’s side. Systems staff are engaging Microsoft.
Beginning at approximately 3:50 PM, several e-mail clients at the Help Desk lost their connection to Office 365. Attempts to access the Outlook Web Application are also intermittently failing. Browsers return the error message, www.outlook.com cannot be found or that the service is unavailable. This is only for some Office 365 users preventing all access to e-mail, calendaring, and contacts.
