RESOLVED:Investigating MySQL Cat1 Database problems
Service Restored

All systems and services recently reported unavailable are believed to be functioning as expected. 


Footprints and Blackboard are responding normally.


Blackboard is responding normally to connections, as of about 11:10.


An issue with Blackborard was consuming too many connections to the CAT1 MySQL servers.  We have implemented measures on the CAT1 MySQL server to prevent excess connections from Blackboard.
We continue to monitor both services.


Systems staff is investigating problems with the MySQL Cat1 Database. 

At 11:06AM the database reported “too many connections”.  This would impact any service that needed to establish a new connection to the MySQL Cat1 Database, including

• Footprints
• Blackboard
• UT Mail Manage Account
