RESOLVED: Mail delays on the inbound IronPort appliances
Service Restored

The backlogs on the inbound IronPort appliances have cleared. Investigation did not reveal any particular message stream that could have accounted for the backlog, so it was probably a combination of several large mail flows. This happens from time to time. Whatever it was, it started at 11:29. The backlog peaked at around 12:45 and started falling off rapidly after 12:50. It was completely clear by 1:35

Our inbound IronPort appliances developed large backlogs over lunch. Mail inbound to all mail services protected by the IronPorts is being delayed by this backlog. Outbound mail and mail between protected services is unaffected. ITS Systems staff are investigating the problem.
