RESOLVED Web Central Storage issue
Service Restored

The Web Central storage issue is resolved.
On Friday May 2, from 8:48 p.m. to 12 midnight, and on Saturday, May 3, from 8:46 a.m. to 10:38 a.m., the Web Central servers reached the maximum storage limits. During this time, any files uploaded to the server or any files automatically created, such as cache files, may have resulted in truncated files where the file is empty.

Publishers should check their sites to ensure that all files are correct and that sites are displaying correctly.

ITS Systems staff have added additional storage to address the immediate need.  ITS Applications will work with publishers to remove unnecessary files, and will continue the effort to recommend best practices for website records management.


Publishers should not upload any new or edited files until the issue is resolved.
The storage issue is causing newly created files to be truncated, including new or edited files uploaded or temporary/cache files.



At approximately 10:15 a.m. ITS Systems staff observed that the file storage for Web Central/www.utexas.edu and associated custom Web hosting sites had exceeded the allotted space.  Systems staff are investigating.
