ITS Services Status
The Blackboard service was restored at approximately 2:45 a.m. Multiple hardware failures resulted in the outage. Technical staff worked throughout the evening and morning to restore the service. No data was lost.
We know this is an important time in the semester and we apologize for the inconvenience this outage has caused. We will continue to work to minimize an outage like this in the future. For students with assignments due, please let your instructor know about the problems with Blackboard. We will contact the instructors to let them know the service was unavailable.
On Thursday, October 18, 2007, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Blackboard (courses.utexas.edu) became unavailable. ITS is working with the vendor to resolve this outage. We expect to provide another update after 7 p.m.
On Thursday, October 18, 2007, from approximately 2:35 to 2:45 p.m., Blackboard (courses.utexas.edu) was unavailable. Service has been temporarily restored. Emergency maintenance will be performed as soon as new hardware arrives.
ITS continues to work with the vendor to resolve this issue and will communicate new information as it becomes available.
All Blackboard (courses.utexas.edu) servers are now operational. Connectivity to one of the data storage devices has not been fully restored. Users may notice slow response.
