jEdit/DMG plugin update:  While Mac client prototypes are quite promising, testing of prototype solutions has turned up a problem for Windows clients.  Stewards continue development, but the timeframe for delivery is unknown at this point.

The next update will be 4:00 PM on Wednesday 8/27, or earlier if we have more information.

Again, developers can still upload webAgent scripts via the DMG web interface.

jEdit/DMG plugin update: Stewards have determined a viable solution and hope to have released it by mid-week next week.  The next update will be 4:00 PM on Monday 8/25, or earlier if we have more information.

We have contacted business stakeholders and determined that no business processes have been affected by the loss of this code editor plugin.  If your area has seen significant impact to your business processes and the use of the DMG web interface is not a sufficient workaround, please contact me and the admins at jedit-admin@utlists.utexas.edu.

Again, developers can still upload webAgent scripts via the DMG web interface.

jEdit/DMG plugin update: The problem is at a much lower level than anticipated and will take serious analysis and perhaps development work for final remediation.
Please continue to use the web interface for uploads.

Despite thorough testing, we have discovered an issue with the jEdit plugin for DMG this morning.
The workaround for webagent development is to use the DMG web interface (https://dpdev1.dp.utexas.edu/cgi-bin/dmg/index.cgi) to upload your webAgent scripts from your desktop.
Systems staff are investigating the issue.

RESOLVED: Canvas Running in Degraded Status

We took a range of steps to address the slowness some users experienced in Canvas yesterday. About 15% of Canvas users were impacted at some point in the day. We addressed several root-cause issues that should result in improved performance for affected users today.

Canvas Status Update
Brief (less than 5 minutes) urgent maintenance event overnight

Starting at about 2:00 AM Eastern Time (1:00 AM Central Time) this morning, we will perform a series of very brief urgent maintenance events. Your users will be unable to access Canvas for about five minutes between 2:00 AM ET and 4:00 AM ET (1:00 AM and 3:00 AM Central Time). We will send you a notice when the event affecting your instance is complete.

The purpose of this event is to bring upgraded hardware online to serve your instance of Canvas. A small percentage of Canvas users experienced slowness in the application at points today; this is a preventative step to ensure that performance is normal for all users as usage increases.

RESOLVED: Blackboard course load issues

Class, Instructor, and Enrollment files were successfully loaded without error. At this time all Blackboard data should be up to date with courses selected to be in Blackboard up until the noon-today timeframe.

There have been errors loading 73 out of 874 courses opted into in Blackboard for Fall 2014.  No data has been lost from the course containers, but those courses and their enrollments are not currently available.

Systems staff continues to investigate.
