Our vendor has successfully restored the Sesssion Border Controllers to proper resilient operation.  Staff has gathered appropriate event logs and traces for further vendor analysis to determine root cause. This incident is resolved.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

At 3:50pm the active VoIP Session Border Controller (SBC) failed and the system switched to the other SBC.

Subsequently the newly active SBC developed instability that may cause VoIP phones across campus to become dormant for up to 5 minutes.  Upon recovery, the phones appear to function normally, but the instability may recur.

Vendor staff is engaged with Voice Services staff on an emergency basis to resolve this issue.

We have had 3 switchovers today of the redundant Session Border Controllers – 9:44, 15:54 and 16:41.  This is not normal behavior.  We have engaged the vendor and the situation is under investigation.

Tonight between 11:15 PM and 1:15 AM, there will be an emergency maintenance window for SharePoint 2010 site collections.    During this time,  SharePoint will experience intermittent outages.  It is suggested that no one access their site collections during this maintenance.  If your site collection contains the following URLs it will be impacted by the maintenance:

University Wiki Service slow or unresponsive
Service Functioning, Temporary Solution in Place

ITS staff implemented changes to the University Wiki Service last week for potential performance and stability improvements but continue to monitor the service for issues. The next update will be Mon., March 30.

The University Wiki Service continues to experience periods of slowness or unavailability. ITS staff have been testing potential improvements for performance and stability and plan to deploy the changes during the scheduled maintenance window on Tuesday, March 17. ITS will monitor the service for a week after implementing the changes and provide an update on Wednesday, March 25.

ITS staff continue to monitor the University Wiki Service and to investigate the root cause of the issues. The next update will be Friday, March 13.

The University Wiki Service continues to experience periods of slowness or unresponsiveness although these issues have been mitigated. ITS staff continue to investigate the root cause and to monitor the service. The next update will be Wednesday, March 11.
