Current Service Interruptions
- RSOLVED: UTV-V: Emergency Restart of vSphere Web Client
The vSphere Web Client for UT-V will be restarted at 6:00pm to address hanging requests.
Running virtual machines will not be affected but VM management and console access via the web client will be unavailable for approximately 10 minutes.
- Large inbound mail backlog
Two of our four inbound email security appliances are deeply backlogged. Mail inbound to all mail services protected by our spam defenses has a 50/50 chance of being caught in this backlog. This includes mail inbound from UTmail, and mail inbound from Office 365 to non-AEMS recipients. Attempts to alleviate the problem by shifting the load around have not worked, so we’ll just need to ride this one out.
- RESOLVED: DirSync issues
The issue is resolved.
While we’ve not heard anything further from Microsoft, DirSync appears to be operational again as of 1:00pm.
Vendor support has been engaged, and they have indicated that this is a known issue currently being worked on by their product group.
We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
DirSync, which provides directory synchronization between our on-premise Active Directory and Office 365, is having issues. This will not interfere with access to Office 365 Exchange Online mailboxes, but will prevent propagation of changes (new mailboxes, address changes, etc) until the issue is resolved. Systems staff are investigating.
- UTBackup Emergency Maintenance
UTBackup will undergo emergency maintenance November 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM to fix a hardware issue.
Backups for some users will pause and resume upon completion of hardware maintenance.
The maintenance is expected to last 2 hours.
- University Wiki Service Emergency Outage
Description: The University Wiki Service will undergo a disruptive maintenance tonight that will impact the wiki’s availability. There will be an interruption of service during this this time. This maintenance will allow the Wiki Admins to re-index the wiki, addressing recent problems related to search functionality.

- SmartVoice Unplanned Maintenance
Brief outage to apply out-of-band MS updates.
Thu 11/20/14 at 10pm
SmartVoice customers and their callers will be affected.
SmartVoice logins will be logged out. Callers will hear a “service temporarily unavailable” message. Downtime should only be a few minutes.
