How do I record an auto-attendant message?

The User ID, password and message numbers for your auto-attendant are provided by the administrator. Please e-mail the auto-attendant administrator, or call 471-9100 if you do not have this information.

To create your auto-attendant recordings:

  1. Call the auto-attendant prompt maintenance number: 471-4444.
  2. At the prompt, enter both your User ID and password together, followed by the pound (#) sign.
  3. Enter the 2-digit message number you wish to record.
  4. After entering the first 2-digit number, you will hear a default recording. Press 1 to record over it, then press 1 again to end your new recording.
  5. The recording will play back for you. At any time, press 1 to re-record it, or press 2 to keep it.
  6. Repeat steps 2 through 5 for each 2-digit message number that you wish to record. You can then hang up (there's no need to log out).
  7. Call the administrator at 471-9100 when your recordings are done.   The new auto-attendant will be placed on a test line, and the number given to you so you can test it. Once you're satisfied, the administrator will complete installation on your departmental phone number.
