Cabling and Wiring
Overview
ITS runs Ethernet and fiber-optic data cables for data, voice, or video for offices, labs, and other facilities at the main UT campus and at the PRC. The physical-layer infrastructure for the university's networking services, departmental networks, underground copper cable plant, and microwave radio links to other university sites in Austin are also part of this service.

Features
- Available for all buildings on the main campus as well as PRC
- Cable types include Ethernet (CAT 5E) and fiber optic
- New Ethernet and fiber systems are wired to current TIA/EIA standards
- Maintenance and repair of installed cabling and hardware is included for the life of the cable
