Cellular Service on Campus

Report a Cellular Service Problem on Campus: Use this form to report poor cellular service conditions on campus. Please provide as much detail as possible to help us work with your cellular carrier to improve service. For a summary snapshot of reported cellular service issues on campus as of 9/24/2015 see this document.

Cellular coverage is essential for the daily operational, business, public safety, and emergency service needs of the campus. The university is committed to making outdoor cellular service available all over campus by working with participating carriers and providing pricing incentives to make the service more affordable to students, faculty, and staff.

Students, Faculty, and Staff Discounts

To make it easier and more affordable for you to stay connected, a number of cellular discounts have been negotiated exclusively for members of the university community.

2Some carriers provide built-in Wi-Fi calling depending on which handset model you are using. This type of service will allow you to make and receive calls and text messages over your Wi-Fi connection in areas with poor cellular coverage. Depending on your handset and wireless service provider active calls may not switch (roaming) from Wi-Fi to your carrier network and vice versa. WARNING: 9-1-1 service through Wi-Fi calling may be limited or unavailable. Check with your wireless service provider for details. For AT&T and T-Mobile WiFi calling customers please let us know about your experience on campus by completing this survey.

Building Owners

To reach ubiquitous outdoor cellular coverage, the university has deployed a Distributed Antenna System (DAS) throughout campus. The discreetly mounted nodes and antennas strategically placed around campus have already made significant improvements to outdoor cellular coverage and service levels from participating carriers. Some buildings have also seen indoor coverage improve as a result of this program.

If your location has poor cellular coverage, see the Help page for information on reporting cellular service issues.
