Adding Network Outlets
If your department has a wired network and you need to add an outlet for a new employee or a new office or area which requires network access, please complete the Data Cabling/Wiring Service Request. You can estimate the cost of installing new outlets using the Installation Cost Estimator. If you have any questions about network outlets, such as placement or number necessary, please e-mail networking@its.utexas.edu. Please note that ITS must install all network outlets on the university campus.
If your department has a wireless network, each computer must associate with a wireless access point — no cables or ports are necessary.
