How do I access the UT Direct Notifications system?
The system is a registered UT Direct service available at UT Direct Notifications.
What types of messages are appropriate?
Messages should relate to official University business that affects individual students or employees. The system is intended for timely, personalized notices, not group distributions. Information destined for an official academic record, such as final grades, should not be sent via UT Direct notifications. Examples of appropriate use:
- A notice that library books or library fines are overdue.
- A notice that a parking ticket resolution deadline is nearing.
- A notice concerning an academic issue with a student.
- A concern about the use of leave with a staff member.
What do I need to use the Notification system?
You need to be faculty or staff member with authorization from your departmental contact to use this system. You will also need the EIDs or UINs of the people to whom you want to send messages.
How do I get the necessary authorization to post a message?
The Notifications system contains the required form for getting authorization from a departmental contact. Simply access the application and begin the wizard process.
How long will my authorization last?
Your authorization is granted by your department through the departmental contact. Authorization length is determined by your departmental contact.
