Overview
Avoid missed appointments and calendar problems! Be sure to update your computer and calendar for Daylight Saving Time.
As of 2007, Daylight Saving Time (DST) begins at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and ends at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday in November. For 2008, DST starts Sunday, March 9 and ends Sunday, November 2.
What should I do?
If you have a computer at home or at work, or if you have a mobile device (BlackBerry, Treo, iPAQ, Windows Mobile), your must update them to acknowledge the DST changes. You should:
- Check to see if your computer has already been updated. If it has not, you need to install the appropriate update.
- If you use a calendar such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Entourage, or Meeting Maker, you should check your calendar appointments and update them if necessary. Some appointments may have shifted by an hour.
- If you have scheduled greetings in SmartVoice Voice Mail, you should update the time zone to ensure that your greetings occur at the correct times.
What if I don't do anything?
If you do not update your computer or mobile device, you may encounter one or more of the following problems:
- Your computer's clock will be off by an hour.
- Appointments in your calendar (either on your computer or on your mobile device) will be at the wrong time (this includes using Outlook Web Access).
