The problem has been corrected. No mailing list mail was lost; it was only delayed.</description>

      <title>UPDATE: SharePoint Service Slowdown</title>

      <description>Status: Service Functioning, Temporary Solution in Place &#45;&#45; Following the SharePoint maintenance, SharePoint databases had to be restored from a backup. If you find that data is missing from any critical changes to a SharePoint site made between 7:45 p.m. on Friday, August 1, and 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 3, contact the ITS Help Desk at 512&#45;475&#45;9400 or .


You should also contact the ITS Help Desk if the error message &#8220;A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported&#8221; displays on your SharePoint site.


In addition, searches currently do not work on SharePoint sites. ITS is working to resolve the issue.





Following the SharePoint maintenance on Sunday, August 3, 2008, some users may be experiencing issues with SharePoint functionality. ITS is currently working on resolving these issues. Please report any SharePoint related problems to the ITS Help Desk at 512&#45;475&#45;9400 or . Updates will be provided as they become available.





On Sunday, August 3, 2008, from midnight to 6 a.m., the SharePoint service will undergo maintenance to address issues identified during the investigation. SharePoint will be unavailable during the maintenance window.





On Monday, July 28, 2008, at 2:50 p.m., the search service for all SharePoint sites has been stopped. SharePoint has been experiencing unusual activity earlier today causing slowness for some users. The search service for SharePoint will remain stopped until this issue is resolved.</description>
