Removing Super User Status - I forgot my password
Your original password is the password ITS uses to establish an account for you. You need to change this password the first time you log in to any ITS system. Remember to keep your original password safe until you are able to change it. You need this ITS-assigned password the first time you access your account to add a service or make a change to your account.
If you have forgotten the original password for a departmental account, visit the ITS Help Desk for assistance. You will need your government-issued photo ID and permission from your account sponsor to change the password. (If you don't know who the sponsor is, the ITS Help Desk can tell you.)
Your sponsor can provide permission in the following ways:
Your sponsor can sign a letter requesting the change, and you can bring that letter to the ITS Help Desk (FAC 200).
Your sponsor can come in person to the ITS Help Desk (FAC 200). Once identity has been established, the sponsor can request the changes.
Your sponsor can phone the ITS Help Desk at 512-475-9400. After identity has been established, the ITS Help Desk can make the requested changes over the phone.
If you know your original password but have forgotten one of your system or email passwords, use the following resources:
Unix Account - Contact the ITS Help Desk to change passwords for these accounts.
WNT - Contact the ITS Help Desk to set up an appointment to change your WNT password.
