Configuring a Computer to Register in Austin DNS Servers on Windows
Note: This step is only required for machines that must register to see the Austin DNS Servers.
Click the Start button and select Control Panel.
Double-click Network Connections.
Right-click the appropriate network connection and select Properties.
Ensure the General tab is selected, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click Properties.
Click Advanced, and then click the DNS tab.
Click Add and enter the following addresses in the DNS server addresses, in order of use field:
"128.83.185.40"
"128.83.185.41"
In the DNS suffix for this connection field, enter "austin.utexas.edu."
Ensure that both Register this connection's addresses in DNS and Use this connection's DNS suffix in DNS registration are selected.
Click OK twice and then click Close.
