Austin Exchange Messaging Service
Using Public Folders
Public folders and their contents are stored centrally and can be shared with any individual that has an Austin Exchange Messaging Service (AEMS) account.
Any UT department using Premium accounts can request a top-level public folder under UT-Departments. After the folder is created, the designated departmental contact can modify access permissions.
Public folders can be email-enabled so that messages can be sent directly to the folder. In addition, one or more people can be given "send as" rights for that folder.
Requesting a Public Folder
To set up a public folder:
Send a request to the ITS Help Desk with the following information:
Department name
Department contact
Requested public folder name if applicable
Note: The mailbox name cannot conflict with a current UT EID. The name should begin with your departmental name (most likely abbreviated) followed by a dash "-".
